Light Aircraft Crashes into Cars

Thames Valley Police was called to an event at Brimpton airstrip at Wasing Lane, Aldermaston just before 3pm today (5/6) following a report of a collision between a light aircraft as it was taking off and an unoccupied parked car.

The plane also made contact with another vehicle, causing a female occupant to be injured.

The incident occurred at a small event attended by approx 100 spectators .

There were two men in their sixties aboard the plane. It collided with the first car, a Renault Megane, which was unoccupied.

A woman in her sixties was in the second car when the plane made contact and she was injured.

The pilot and his male passenger suffered minor injuries which were treated at the scene, while the woman was airlifted to hospital.

All emergency services were at the scene and TVP will gather evidence for a subsequent investigation by the Air Accident Investigation Branch.
