Collision in Newcastle city centre

Police are appealing for witnesses after a collision in Newcastle city centre.

At 3:40am on Sunday, June 12, a white Audi A1 collided with a 17-year-old male in Clayton Street West.

The boy was crossing the road at the time the collision happened.

He was taken to the RVI hospital with head injuries and a fracture to his leg. He is in a stable condition.

Enquiries are ongoing into the collision and police want to identify and speak to anyone who was in Clayton Street West and who saw the collision.

Any witnesses are asked to contact police on 101 quoting reference number 234 12/06/16.
