Police seek vehicle that failed to stop following a collision in Shropshire

West Mercia Police is appealing for a driver who failed to stop following an incident on the A488 near Clanbrook Leacross to come forward.

The incident happened at approximately 7:20pm yesterday evening (Thursday, 16 June 2016) and involved a marked police vehicle, on route to an emergency call in Pontesbury, and a silver MK4 VW Golf travelling in the opposite direction.

The Golf is believed to have crossed onto the opposite carriageway whilst driving through flood water. The police driver took evasive action and mounted the verge, colliding with a fence before come to a rest on its roof in a field.

The silver Golf failed to stop at the scene. An independent witness states the driver is believed to be a woman.

No one was reported as injured in the incident.
