Police have today released the name of the man who died following a road traffic collision in Hemsworth.
Victor Watkins, who was 52 and from the Pontefract area, died after his silver Peugeot 306 was in collision with a silver Ford Focus on Hemsworth Road at about 12.25am on Saturday, 18 June.
Three men from the Focus, aged 22, 22 and 23, who were taken to hospital with serious injuries were said to be in a critical but stable condition today.
A fourth man, aged 20, who was also travelling in the Focus, was released from hospital after being treated for minor injuries.
Police are continuing to appeal for information about the collision and would like to speak to anyone who witnessed it, or who saw the movements of either vehicle prior to the collision.
Anyone with information is asked to contact the Major Collision Enquiry Team on 101, quoting log 56 of 18/06.

Police are appealing for witnesses following a fatal road collision that occurred in Hemsworth.
On Saturday morning at approximately 00:25am a collision occurred on Hemsworth Road, near to the junction of Water Lane, in Hemsworth involving a silver Ford Focus and a silver Peugeot 306.
A 52-year-old man, from the Pontefract area sadly died at the scene; three other people were taken to hospital with serious life threatening injuries.
PS Carl Quinn of the Major collision enquiry team said: “We are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the collision or saw either vehicle beforehand to come forward to assist with our investigation.
“Anyone with any information is asked to contact the Major collision enquiry team via 101 quoting log number 56 of 18/06.”
