Police identify man who died following a collision in Carlisle

Police can confirm that the man who died on Kingstown Road, Carlisle, on August 3rd has been identified as Russell James Coughlin, aged 56, from Carlisle.

Mr Coughlin died in the Cumberland Infirmary, on August 3rd.

He was driving a Vauxhall Insignia  which collided and mounted a kerb then crossed a grassed area, clipping a tree which caused a small amount of damage to the front nearside of the car.

Specially trained officers are supporting the family of Mr Coughlin at this time.

Police are appealing for any witnesses that may have been in Carlisle and saw the vehicle involved in the incident. Anyone with information should contact Cumbria Police on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
