Appeal following a fail to stop collision in Stratford

Detectives from Newham are appealing for witnesses and information following a fail to stop collision in Stratford which has left a woman with substantial injuries.

Police were called by the London Ambulance Service (LAS) to Thornham Grove,E15 on Saturday, 20 August, at around 03:39 hours following a report of a car in collision with a pedestrian which failed to stop.

Officers attended along with the LAS and found the pedestrian, a 22-year-old woman injured at the location.

The woman was taken to an east London hospital where she remains. Her injuries are not being treated as life threatening.

A vehicle was found nearby and a 22-year-old man was arrested on suspcion of affray and attempted murder.

He was taken into custody at an east London police station where he remains.

Enquiries are ongoing to establish whether this vehicle was involved in the collision.
