Appeal after Walsall woman killed
Police are appealing for information following a fatal collision yesterday (15 December) on Stubbers Green Road in Aldridge.
Officers were called to the scene following reports a white Mini Cooper had collided with a silver Peugeot 107 at 7.06am.
Local woman, Hazel Goodyear, was treated at the scene but unfortunately nothing could be done to save her life and she sadly died.
Her family have paid tribute to the 67-year-old, they said: ’It is with great sadness that we announce Hazel Ann Goodyear passed away. She was not only a loved mother, grandmother and sister but well known and respected by everyone.
“We kindly ask you to respect the family and give us privacy at this difficult time.’’
Detective Constable Claire Byrne, from the Regional Collision Investigation Unit, said: “Our thoughts are with the family of Hazel at this tragic time.”
The driver of the Mini Cooper was treated for her injuries at the scene and is currently assisting police with the investigation.
Det Con Byrne added: “We are appealing to anyone who witnessed the collision or has information about the incident to contact police as soon as possible.”
