Woman suffers serious leg injuries

Police are appealing for witnesses after two pedestrians were involved in a collision with a bus in Plymouth last night [15 December].

Emergency services were called to Transit Way in Honicknowle at 7.25pm after a man and a woman were struck by the bus at the Tesco car park access road.

The 66-year-old woman, from Honicknowle, sustained a serious leg injuries and was taken to Derriford Hospital.

The 60-year-old man suffered minor injuries and was discharged from Derriford Hospital following treatment.

The driver of the Optaire Solo Bus, operated by a private company, was uninjured in the incident.

Officers from the Serious Collision Investigation Team attended and the road was closed for five hours while they carried out a forensic examination of the scene.

Police are appealing for witnesses and urging anyone with information which could assist with the investigation to contact them via or by telephone on 101, quoting log number 692 of 15/12/16.
