X2 Project EDWARD 02 of 10 seatbelt

Seatbelts save lives – put it on & make sure your passengers wear theirs too! #ProjectEDWARD

The law for drivers and front seat passengers came into force over thirty years ago with the requirement that everybody wears one. The reason for this is clear – they save lives. It became law in 1991 for everybody in the back to wear seatbelts too, yet despite this people still don’t buckle-up. Seatbelts are designed to work with airbags to keep you safe in the event of a collision and not wearing one, even on a short journey, could prove fatal.
It’s also important that your children are in the correct restraints. All children under 135cms (4’5”approx.) or under 12 years old (whichever comes sooner) must sit in an appropriate car seat.
Failing to wear a seatbelt could result in a £100 fixed penalty or £500 fine.
